The last of the new Canon cameras for the day is a totally new model: the PowerShot E1. While the press release makes it sound

John Nack, the Senior Product Manage of Photoshop noted a new web site on his blog recently. It’s called Dear Adobe and it’s devoted to, well, providing a place for people to post rants and raves. Viewers can submit their own gripes and vote on the gripes of others.
You can see what John thinks about this at this link. (or at least his “public reaction”)
(It’s good that John has a sense of humor)

Adding onto last week's announcement of two entry-level cameras, Olympus today released three more models, this time a little higher-end. The first one I want to mention is the SP-565 Ultra Zoom, which packs a whopping 20X zoom lens like the SP-560UZ before it, but now it's smaller and lighter. Here are the details on this model:

Next, we have two new Stylus models: one "regular" and one "everything-proof". Both cameras (but especially the Stylus 1040) appear to be -- ahem -- "inspired" by Sony's T-series cameras, right down to the sliding lens cover. The Stylus 1050SW does have a pretty neat new "tap" feature that I'll mention below. Here are all the details:

Review (Summary): "The Olympus E-520 is a refreshed version of Olympus's upper-entry-level camera, the E-510. As such it's a slightly bulked-up E-420 with image stabilization, which makes it one of the most feature-packed and customizable cameras available for under £500/$800. It loses some of its sibling's compact chic but offers a bigger, longer-lasting battery and a more familiar grip shape to those people familiar with contemporary DSLRs |
